The Home Cases: Home/the/at/from
Since 2011, around the home theme, Diyarbakir (Turkey), Ústí nad Labem (Czech Republic), Tallinn (Estonia), Berlin (Germany), Batman (Turkey) In those projects we tackled the issue of Home within various topics and aspects. We shared the projects and houses with different artists from different countries.
While planning to continue these projects in Paris and Rome, all the cities / countries closed their doors and took shelter due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Of course, those who do not have the shelter in the pandemic, get sick and stay in hospitals, go to eternal home / eternal rest, stay in another city or country, have to leave their homes to work despite the pandemic, and those who cannot benefit from the safety and comfort of the home, as they work in hospitals...were the realities and outcomes of the Covid conditions.
In addition to all these, it brings with it the experiences of overexposure to the home from trust to distrust, from comfort to distress. The conditions of the Home, which changes according to the people, the societies and the situations - especially in this pandemic period - constitute the main topics t of this project.
In addition, parallel disasters that started before the pandemic and continued during the pandemic also increased the burden of the pandemic. In addition to this, besides its positive aspects in terms of noticing the issues of the pandemic in the social media and taking precautions, it also creates negative aspects such as disinformation, creating panic, etc.
Both social scientists and natural scientists focus on the topic with its various analyzes since the first day of the pandemic. These analyzes were a more serious, political and scientific blend of all dystopian works that have been watched and read so far since the 20th century. The fact that there were many aspects of righteousness did not tolerate the unfair aspects.
In addition, sources of pandemics recorded in world history were tried to be downloaded from the shelves and a link / lesson / solution was removed. However, this pandemic was a special pandemic that differs from the others. It was a pandemic that spread rapidly from one end of the world to the other. A pandemic just like coincides with our contemporary time of acceleration. Furthermore, a pandemic as the extreme of of virality. Thus, images, texts, performances, videos, daily conversations from the most varied channels of social media to other medium; and as well as problems, measures, solutions of it would spread / spread / spread faster than the virus.
The purpose of this project is not to add a new one to the bulk of analysis of this current pandemic. However, it is to gather and bring together a true real-time and venue experience of our former Home-focused exhibitions. In other words, what artists are doing, what they can do or what they wish to do? In addition, we wish that the artists, who could not be at home for various reasons, will also convey their experiences to us.

Ev/i/e/de/den
2011 yılından beri Ev teması etrafında, Diyarbakır (Türkiye), Usti Nad Labem (Çekya), Tallin (Estonya), Berlin (Almanya), Batman (Türkiye) gibi şehirlerde çeşitli workshoplar ve sergiler düzenledik. Bu sergilerle Ev’i çeşitli yönleriyle ele aldık. Farklı ülkelerden farklı sanatçılarla aynı projenin/evin ahalisi olduk.
Bu projelerin devamını Paris ve Roma da yapmayı planlarken Covid-19 pandemisi sebebiyle şehirler/ülkeler kapılarını kapatıp eve sığındılar. Tabi pandemide sığınacak evi olmayanlar, hastalanıp hastanelerde yatanlar, sonsuz eve/ebedi istirahate gidenler, başka bir şehirde veya ülkede mahsur kalanlar, pandemiye rağmen çalışmak için evlerinden çıkmak zorunda olanlar, hastanelerde çalıştıkları için evlerine gidemeyenler gibi evin güven ve konforundan faydalanamayanlar da bu Covid-19 durumunun başka bir gerçekliği.
Tüm bunların yanında Ev’e aşırı maruz kalmanın güvenden güvensizliğe, konfordan rahatsızlığa geçiş deneyimlerini beraberinde getirmektedir. Kişilere, toplumlara ve durumlara göre değişen Ev’in halleri –özellikle de bu pandemi dönemindeki halleri- bu projenin konusunu oluşturmaktadır.
Ayrıca pandemi öncesinden başlayan ve pandemi süresince de devam eden paralel felaketler de pandeminin yükünü biraz daha arttırdı. Bunun yanında sosyal medyanın pandeminin önceden fark edilmesi, önlemlerin alınması gibi konularda olumlu yönlerinin yanında dezenformasyon, panik yaratma vs gibi yönleriyle de olumsuzluklar yaratmakta.
Konuya tıpçılar ve fen bilimciler kadar sosyal bilimciler de eğildi, pandeminin ilk gününden beri çeşitli analizler yapıldı. Bu analizler şimdiye kadar izlenmiş ve okunmuş bütün distopik eserlerin daha ciddi, siyasal ve bilimsel bir harmanıydı. Haklılık yanlarının çok olması haksız yanlarını tolere etmiyordu.
Bununla birlikte dünya tarihinde kayıt altına alınan pandemilere ait kaynaklar raflardan indirilip bir bağlantı/ders/çözüm çıkarılmaya çalışıldı. Ancak bu pandemi başka bir pandemiydi. Bir günde dünyanın bir ucundan öteki ucuna yayılan bir pandemiydi. Tam da hız çağına yakışan bir pandemi; Viralliğin en uç hali. Sorunlar, önlemler, çözümler kadar sosyal medyanın envai çeşit kanallarından imajlar, metinler, performanslar, videolar, anlamsız tartışmalar, gündelik muhabbetler de virüsten daha hızlı yayıldı/yayılıyor/yayılacak.
Bu projenin amacı mevcut pandemi hakkında yığınla yapılmış analize yeni birini eklemek değil. Bu projenin amacı, eski Ev odaklı sergilerimizin, tam da gerçek zaman ve mekânla bir deneyimini bir araya getirmektir. Yani şu an sanatçılar ne yapıyor, neler yapabiliyor veya neler yapmaya üşeniyor. Ayrıca yukarıda ikinci paragrafta sözü geçen, çeşitli sebeplerden dolayı evde olamayan sanatçılar da bize başka türlü deneyimlerini aktarıyorlar. Proje kapsamında sanatçılar pandemi süresince yaşadıklarını bir video çekimiyle bizlerle paylaşıyorlar. Bu videolara Artists Profile başlığından ulaşılabilir.
